It may sound strange… starting with a celebration AND it is one of the most powerful strategies to publish a book that will position your contribution to be seen, respected and chosen by your best clients/patients or students… while helping your business achieve a bigger impact, profits and contribution.
If you are a professional, expert and entrepreneur and you are planning to publish a business-building book, one of the smartest ways to start is by planning how you are going to celebrate your book.
Getting Celebration Clarity
Start by getting a clear vision for publishing your book: do you want to reach more people? Do you want a start building your business audience? Is it more referrals what you want? Is it media exposure? Is it more speaking engagements?
A Big Publishing Mistake
Can you guess what most authors do once they publish their book?
You guessed it… nothing.
And not because they are lazy or not interested.
They do nothing because they see the publishing of their book as the end of the process and now they sit and start to wait for the rain of clients, media interviews and speaking invitations.
This is not how it works. People don’t magically discover your book.
At the other end of the spectrum, you have authors just selling their book. (You probably see them every day in your social media news feeds, telling you about all the bonuses you get if you buy their book.
A Great Celebration Strategy
If you want to reach more people, get more referrals or collaboration opportunities, start by planning a celebration that allows you to achieve your business goals.
You can give away your book (not a chapter but your whole book) as a limited time celebration. That can allow you to reach more people and build your business audience.
You can send an autographed copy of your book to key players and event organizers. (A PRO TIP – event organizers are looking for experts for their events and someone who has written the book in the topic they are looking for becomes instantly attractive because if you could do all the work required to write and publish a book, you probably can do a great job when creating your talk).
Do you know all those people that would make great referral partners? Your book can be the best tool to give them to help them refer you.
So once you have your celebration planned, reverse engineer the process of creating and publishing your book from there. It infuses the whole project with a great energy.
